MABLE-ing at Mosswood Meltdown

Doomscrolling the 102-plus-degree weekly weather forecast has broken my ritualistic bag-packing procrastination. Thankfully, this Arizona desert rat is escaping the torturous heat and heading to Oakland for the 12th annual Mosswood Meltdown to soak up the presence of the Pope of Trash, John Waters, while feverishly snapping my shutter. How poetic is it that a solo festival adventure satisfies both the adolescent and adult bucketlist?!

This being my first Meltdown, the mission is simple: gorge myself on photographing legends in the heart of the east bay punk scene and hopefully hug some Mables in the process. I’ll be there Saturday and Sunday—if you see me in the crowd, be sure to stop me and say "hi"!
